Group fitness classes coming to the Cooktown Events Centre

Get ready to sweat! Cook Shire Council is excited to launch two new weekly group fitness classes at the Cooktown Events Centre, starting Wednesday 2 April.

Whether you’re looking to torch calories, build strength, or simply move your body in a fun and supportive environment, we’ve got two high-energy options just for you:

HIIT – Wednesdays at 5.30-6:30 PM
A fast-paced, high-intensity workout focused on intervals of effort and rest. Using bodyweight or minimal equipment, this class boosts cardiovascular endurance, coordination, and calorie burn in a short, sharp session.

Cross-training – Thursdays at 5.30-6:30 PM
A dynamic full-body workout blending strength, endurance, and coordination. Designed around functional movements and circuit-style challenges, this class builds overall fitness, power, and stability.

Open to everyone – no membership required!

  • Just $10 per class, or grab a 10-class pass for only $80 from the Events Centre.
  • No booking required – just turn up!
  • Don’t forget to bring a towel and water bottle.
