The Councillors and staff of Cook Shire Council are extending warm seasonal greetings to the community as the Christmas and New Year period approaches.
Council is wishing all residents a joyful and safe festive season, encouraging families to take time to rest, connect and enjoy the celebrations. Council also extends its thanks to the community for their support throughout the year and reaffirms its commitment to serving the Cook Shire region in 2026.
Residents are encouraged to stay safe over the holiday period and take extra care on local roads as many people travel or take part in end-of-year activities. Urgent essential services will continue to be available throughout the break via Council’s after-hours line. Community members can call 4082 0500 and remain on the line to be transferred to the after-hours operator.
Cook Shire Council looks forward to the year ahead and to working alongside residents, businesses and community groups to support a strong and resilient Shire in 2026.
