If it’s flooded, forget it: A safety reminder for all road users

Council is reminding all road users not to risk driving through floodwater during wet weather events.

Flooded roads are unpredictable and often far more dangerous than they appear. Water depth, road damage and fast-moving currents can be difficult to judge, and driving through floodwater places drivers, passengers and emergency responders at serious risk.

To help residents and visitors stay informed, Council’s Disaster Dashboard provides access to live flood cameras and up-to-date conditions, allowing road users to check impacted areas before travelling.

Council urges everyone to plan ahead, delay travel if needed, and remember:

If it’s flooded β€” forget it.
No destination is worth the risk.
