Cook Shire Council is calling on community members to help shape the 2026 Cooktown Discovery Festival.
Community members are invited to join the Festival Family, a collaborative group that will contribute fresh ideas and contribute towards the programming of this year’s festival. The Festival Family plays an important role in ensuring the event reflects the creativity, culture and spirit of the Cooktown community.
Successful applicants will be asked to share ideas and suggestions, attend a Festival Family Workshop, and volunteer their time in the lead-up to the festival.
The Festival Family meeting will be held on Tuesday, 17 February 2026, and participants must be available to attend.
Expressions of Interest close at 5:00pm on Monday, 9 February 2026. Successful applicants will be notified on Thursday, 12 February 2026.
