With more rain forecast for the Cook Shire, Council is providing an update on the status of flood cameras across the region and reminding residents and visitors to check conditions before travelling.
Oaky Creek Road Causeway (Endeavour Valley Road)
The flood camera at the Oaky Creek Road causeway is currently offline. Initial investigations indicate the camera may have been vandalised. Council is investigating the damage, however it is highly likely the camera will need to be replaced at cost to Council. As a result, it may be some time before the live feed can be restored.
Isabella Creek
The flood camera at Isabella Creek is also currently offline. This camera is owned and managed by the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR). TMR is aware of the issue, and any queries or concerns regarding this camera should be directed to TMR.
Laura Flood Camera
TMR has confirmed that the flood camera at Laura has been repaired. The live feed is fully functional and, at the time of publishing, is displaying clear, high-quality vision.
Stay informed and travel safely
With weather systems approaching and further rainfall expected, Council strongly encourages community members to stay informed and plan travel carefully.
Residents and visitors are urged to
- Bookmark the Cook Shire Disaster Dashboard:

- Check river heights and conditions via the Bureau of Meteorology before travelling:

Conditions can change quickly during wet weather. If in doubt, delay travel and never attempt to drive through floodwaters.
