Get ready, Cook Shire! The Cooktown Shire Hall will come alive with the sound of fiddles, reels and toe-tapping Celtic tunes this March for the St Patrick’s Day Jig. A night of music, dancing and good craic.

The celebration will be held on Saturday 21 March 2026 from 6:30pm to 10:30pm at Cooktown Shire Hall, promising a lively evening for the whole community.

Headlining the night is 33 1/3, a Celtic band travelling from Townsville. Known for their vibrant stage presence and infectious rhythms, 33 1/3 deliver a dynamic mix of traditional Irish favourites and modern Celtic classics that are guaranteed to get the crowd on their feet.

Whether you’re an experienced Irish dancer or simply keen to enjoy the atmosphere, this is a night for everyone. With a bar and food available for purchase, attendees can settle in for a festive evening filled with music, laughter and community spirit.
