Cook Shire Council advises that the scheduled rubbish collection for Cooktown on Friday 20 March has been brought forward to Thursday 19 March as a precautionary measure in preparation for the potential development of a tropical low/cyclone (34U).
Residents are asked to:
- Place their wheelie bins out before 6:00am on Thursday morning (19 March)
- Not put bins out on Friday (20 March)
- Ensure bins are brought in promptly after collection on Thursday to prevent hazards from strong winds and flying debris
