Cook Shire Council advises that the Coen water supply will be shut off at 10:00pm tonight as part of preparations for Tropical Cyclone Narelle.
This is a precautionary measure to protect infrastructure and maintain water quality during severe weather conditions.
Residents are strongly encouraged to store water now, including filling containers, bathtubs and other suitable storage.
No water will be available from 10pm tonight until after the event and once Council teams have had the chance to conduct a damage assessment.
Further updates will be provided via Council’s Disaster Dashboard and official communication channels.
For assistance or if you have concerns, please contact Council’s Disaster Management team on 4082 0500 or via dmo@cook.qld.gov.au.
Thank you for your cooperation and preparedness.
