Free Dog and Cat Desexing Clinic Coming to Cooktown

Cook Shire Council is encouraging pet owners to take part in the upcoming Paws Up for Pet Care desexing clinic, offering free desexing for eligible cats and dogs.

The clinic will be held at the Cooktown Shire Hall from Monday 30 March to Wednesday 1 April 2026.

Desexing plays an important role in improving animal health, reducing unwanted litters, and supporting a safer, healthier community.

Clinic details:

  • Monday 30 March – Wednesday 1 April
  • Cats and dogs welcome

Eligibility requirements:

  • Dogs must be registered and microchipped
  • Cats must be microchipped

Bookings are essential and places are limited.
Residents are encouraged to secure a spot early to avoid missing out.
