Bloomfield / Ayton community invited to shape local recovery and resilience

Bloomfield/ Ayton residents are being invited to take part in an upcoming community recovery and resilience meeting, providing an opportunity to reflect on recent wet season events and help plan for the future.

Facilitated by Cook Shire Council’s Community Recovery & Resilience Officer – Cyclone Jasper, the session will bring locals together to share experiences, identify community priorities and contribute to practical solutions that strengthen preparedness and response.

After experiencing multiple weather events this season, the meeting aims to build on lessons learned and turn them into meaningful actions that support both individuals and the broader community.

Discussion topics will include local preparedness, communication and support needs, community priorities, and the role of the Tin Shed as a potential Resilience Hub, along with identifying clear next steps.

Cook Shire Council encourages all community members to attend and be part of the conversation, helping to shape a stronger, more connected and resilient future for Bloomfield/ Ayton.
