Temporary water restrictions announced for Coen

Residents in Coen are advised that water restrictions will move to Alert Level from Monday 27 April 2026, as the local water reservoir undergoes some urgent maintenance.

Council is working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, however in the meantime, the community is being asked to reduce non-essential water use to help maintain supply for essential needs.

Under Alert Level restrictions

Not permitted:

  • No watering is permitted on Wednesdays
  • Sprinklers, micro sprays and drip irrigation systems cannot be used

Still permitted (please use water wisely and only when required):

  • Hand-held hoses fitted with a trigger nozzle may be used at any time
  • Ponds and fountains cannot be filled unless using a non-potable water source
  • Existing swimming pools can be topped up; new pool filling is allowed but discouraged
  • Hard surfaces may only be cleaned with pressure cleaners for health or safety reasons
  • Vehicles can be washed at any time using a bucket or a hose fitted with a trigger nozzle; commercial car washes may continue operating as usual

Thank you for your cooperation during this time and a reminder to everyone to be mindful of their water use while repairs are underway.

Updates will be provided as more information becomes available and once normal water supply conditions are restored.
