The much-loved Cook Shire’s Got Talent is back for 2026, returning as a festival-favourite community event in the lead up to the Cooktown Discovery Festival.
Recognised as one of Cooktown’s most popular youth entertainment events, Cook Shire’s Got talent celebrates local talent, youth performance, creativity, and community spirit, giving young performers across the Cook Shire region the opportunity to shine on stage in front of a live audience.
Young performers aged 5 to 25 years are invited to showcase their talents at the Cooktown Events Centre on Friday 5 June 2026, with performances including singing, dancing, comedy, music, magic and more.
A highlight on the local events calendar, Cook Shire’s Got Talent celebrates youth talent, creativity and community spirit while giving young people the opportunity to build confidence and gain live stage experience in a supportive environment.
As part of the Cooktown Discovery Festival program, winners will also have the opportunity to perform on the Discovery Festival main stage.
New for 2026 is the Junior Judge opportunity, giving one passionate young person the chance to join the official judging panel and be part of one of Cooktown’s most exciting youth events.
