Community is advised that public access to Finch Bay Beach is temporarily closed in the interest of public safety as part of the Scenic Rim Walking Trail Restoration Project.
While the beach itself has not been directly impacted, the official access tracks at both ends of Finch Bay are currently closed due to ongoing construction works and safety risks associated with the project area.
Council strongly advises community members and visitors not to attempt to access Finch Bay via unofficial or alternate routes.
These routes may involve:
- Dense bushland and unstable terrain
- Swamp and tidal areas
- Potential exposure to crocodile habitat and waterways
For community safety, the beach should be considered temporarily inaccessible for the duration of works.
At this stage, works along this section of the trail are anticipated to be completed by Friday 22 May 2026, pending favourable weather and site conditions.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding while these important restoration works are carried out.
Further updates will be provided as works progress.
