Celebrate National Reconciliation Week 2026 with a free youth crop in Edor session at the Cooktown Events Centre!
School-aged students are invited to get active, have fun and celebrate culture at a free Youth Drop-In Edor Session at the Cooktown Events Centre on Monday 1 June from 3pm to 5pm as part of National Reconciliation Week 2026.
Edor is a fast-paced chasing and tagging team game from the Aurukun community that combines movement, teamwork and quick thinking. With the rules changing every time someone gets tagged, no two games are ever the same — making for an energetic and exciting afternoon on the court.
The free drop-in session forms part of Cook Shire Council’s National Reconciliation Week program and reflects this year’s theme, All In, which encourages all Australians to come together, learn from one another and take part in reconciliation through shared experiences and connection.
The event is open to school-aged students of all skill levels, with no registration required. Young people are encouraged to simply turn up, jump in and give it a go.
