Community Choir – Building connection, wellbeing and resilience through music.

Communtiy Choir project to bring music, connection, and wellbeing to Cook Shire Communities.

Cook Shire communities are invited to come together through music as part of Stronger Together, a new community choir project.  The project will bring people of all ages and backgrounds together through a series of uplifting choir workshops across Cook Shire. No singing experience is needed, just a willingness to join in, meet new people and enjoy being a part of something positive in the community!

This initiative supports disaster recovery and community resilience by using music as a powerful engagement tool to strengthen social connection, inclusion, participation and wellbeing across disaster-affected communities.

Participants can attend one or multiple workshops, with each group learning a song before joining together for a final combined performance at the Cooktown Discovery Festival in June.

Choir leaders Jane Younghusband and Merindi Schrieber will guide participants through fun, relaxed and inclusive sessions designed for everyone.

Lunch and afternoon tea will be provided free of charge, making it easy for community members to come along, connect and enjoy the experience together.

Bookings essential.
