Families and young children are invited to enjoy a relaxed morning of stories, songs and outdoor fun at the upcoming Teddy Bear Picnic hosted by the Cook Shire Council Libraries.
Set amongst the beautiful surrounds of the Cooktown Botanic Gardens, the free community event will encourage children and families to connect with nature while enjoying a special morning with their favourite teddy bears.
The Teddy Bear Picnic will feature storytime, music, play activities and plenty of opportunities for children to explore the gardens, enjoy the fresh air and spend time outdoors with family and friends. Morning tea will also be provided for attendees to enjoy during the event.
Families are encouraged to bring along a picnic rug, hats, water bottles and their favourite teddy bear for the morning.
The event will be held on Wednesday 24 June from 10:00 AM at the Cooktown Botanic Gardens, in the yarning circle and is suitable for young children and their carers.
The Teddy Bear Picnic is part of the library’s ongoing Storytime program of family-friendly activities designed to encourage reading, creativity and community connection in welcoming outdoor spaces.
