School holiday fun coming to Cooktown Events Centre

The Cooktown Events Centre is set to come alive these June–July school holidays with a packed program of activities, workshops, movies and creative experiences for local families and young people.

From drop-in sports sessions and movie afternoons to hands-on art workshops and live theatre experiences, there’s something happening across the holidays to keep kids active, creative and entertained.

Families can enjoy free drop-in sports sessions across two Mondays, giving kids the chance to stay active, social and have fun indoors during the school break.

Movie afternoons will also return to the Events Centre, featuring family favourites Lilo & Stitch (2025) and Toy Story 4, with screenings beginning at 3pm.

Creative workshops will also feature throughout the program, including Ulla Art Chalk Drawing Workshops and Catbird Theatre performances and workshops.

These sessions require bookings, with details available through TryBooking.
