A successful evening of entertainment, creativity and community spirit unfolded at the Cooktown Events Centre as young performers took to the stage for Cook Shire’s Got Talent 2026.
The 2026 Cook Shire’s Got Talent competition once again highlighted the incredible talent, creativity and confidence of young performers from across the region, with a fantastic evening of entertainment at the Cooktown Events Centre.
From energetic dance routines and musical performances to captivating magic acts, participants took to the stage and impressed both the audience and judges with their enthusiasm, skill and stage presence.
Junior Division (5–11 years)

🥉 3rd Place – There’s Nothing Holding Me Back (April Greaves)
Senior Division (12–17 years)
🥇 1st Place – Yung Cooked Town (Jessica, Holly, Eliza and Jade)
🥈 2nd Place – Zee Zee n Ez (Zyra Jones and Ezra Jones)
🥉 3rd Place – Down Boy (Julian Slykerman)
The event celebrated the diverse talents of young people from across Cook Shire while providing valuable opportunities to perform in front of a live audience and gain experience on stage in a supportive environment.
A special thank you is extended to Cooktown State School for its support of the event, judges Des, Niki and Sophie for their time and expertise, and MC Katie Broomfield for guiding the evening’s proceedings.
