Community members are invited to share their experiences, challenges and ideas as part of a project to better understand childcare and early childhood education needs across Cooktown and surrounding communities.
Beacon Strategies has been engaged to undertake a Childcare Business Case, which will examine current childcare demand, service gaps, barriers to access and opportunities to strengthen childcare options for local families.
As part of this work, a community survey is now open for parents, carers, expectant families, employers and community members to complete.
The survey will help identify:
- how families currently access childcare and early childhood services
- challenges relating to availability, affordability and suitability of care
- how childcare access affects work, study and family life
- future childcare and early years needs across the region.
Whether you currently use childcare services, have experienced challenges accessing care, are planning to start a family, or simply have a view on what services are needed in the community, your feedback is important.
Community input will play an important role in helping build a clearer picture of local needs and informing future planning and decision-making.
The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and responses will remain confidential.
Community members are encouraged to share the survey with family, friends and colleagues who may also wish to contribute.
