Helicopter Operations Resume This Week for Scenic Rim Trail Restoration
Cook Shire Council advises residents and visitors that helicopter operations will resume Monday 29 June to Wednesday 1 July (inclusive), weather permitting, as restoration works continue on the Scenic Rim Walking Trail.
Due to recent weather conditions, works were rescheduled at short notice.
Helicopters will be used to transport materials into difficult-to-access sections of the trail network, including Cherry Tree Bay, helping restore areas damaged during Tropical Cyclone Jasper.
During helicopter operations:
- Sections of the Scenic Rim Walking Trail will remain closed.
- Queens Oval (including the cricket pitch) will be closed and used as the helicopter operations area.
- Residents near Queens Oval, the Botanic Gardens and Grassy Hill may experience intermittent helicopter noise.
Council asks residents to secure pets, follow all signage and avoid restricted work areas while operations are underway.
Council appreciates the community’s patience while these important restoration works continue.
