Planned burn to take place near Mulligan Highway

Please be advised of a planned burn to take place near Mulligan Highway.

Residents and motorists are advised that the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) and Yuku Baja Muliku Rangers will be conducting planned burns within Annan River (Yuku Baja Muliku) National Park on the western side of the Mulligan Highway from Tuesday 7 July to Friday 10 July 2026 as part of the annual conservation management and hazard reduction program.

Smoke may be visible from sections of the Mulligan Highway during the burns.

Motorists travelling through the area are encouraged to drive with care, follow all safety signage and directions from local rangers, and remain alert for firefighters and operational vehicles.

The planned burns are an important part of maintaining healthy forest ecosystems, promoting biodiversity, and reducing the risk and potential impacts of bushfires during periods of elevated fire danger.
