The first week of the school holidays has been packed with creativity, adventure, sport and plenty of smiling faces, with children and families making the most of a fantastic line-up of free activities across the region.
From library craft sessions and pool games to basketball, soccer, skate park fun and community events, there has been something for everyone to enjoy.
Young artists got creative making colourful cardboard crafts, collages, dinosaurs and lanterns at Cooktown and Bloomfield Libraries, while the Coen Library came alive with games and activities during Library Fun.
Water lovers took advantage of Splash N’ Play sessions at the Cooktown Pool, while the Coen Oval Waterplay afternoon provided the perfect way to beat the tropical heat.
The week also saw plenty of action on the courts and fields, with basketball in Coen, soccer sessions, Community Chalk Day at the Cooktown Skate Park and a Teen & Adult Chalk Workshop bringing people together to showcase their creativity.
Families also enjoyed the Laura Family Fun Day, while movie afternoons and NAIDOC Week activities added even more opportunities for the community to connect, celebrate and have fun.
