A contractor will carry out a single helicopter lift tomorrow morning to deliver large, heavy finishing pieces to the Scenic Rim project site.
Because the work area is reached only by a walking trail through steep bushland, the materials cannot be safely carried in by hand or transported by vehicle.
The helicopter will travel from Cooktown Airport, over Four mile, along the Endeavour River and to the drop site along the trail. It will likely be visible from parts of Cooktown.
The lift is expected to happen between 12 and 1 pm and will take only a short time. There is no confirmed time, as the operation depends entirely on suitable weather and flying conditions.
Please note that these works will not affect access to Finch Bay. Finch Bay will remain open as usual.
