Looking for a fun day out while learning more about how you can support your community?
The SES Open Day is coming to Lakeland on Saturday, 22 August 2026, inviting families, residents and anyone interested in volunteering to come along, meet the local SES team and enjoy a great day of community activities.
The event will be held from 11 am to 2 pm at the Lakeland SES Local HQ, Peninsula Developmental Road, Lakeland
Whether you’ve ever wondered what it’s takes to become an SES volunteer or simply want to enjoy a family-friendly day out, the Open Day offers a chance to learn more about the important work the State Emergency Service does to support communities during storms, floods, road crashes, searches and other emergencies.
There’ll be plenty happening throughout the day, making it a great outing for the whole family. Kids can tackle the giant obstacle inflatable, everyone can enjoy a FREE BBQ lunch, and you can stop by the information stall to learn more about the work of the SES and how they can get involved.
