Dust off your dancing boots and get ready to kick up your heels — Bootz n Beatz is bringing a foot-stomping night of line dancing, live music and country fun to Cooktown!
On Saturday 12 September, the Cooktown Shire Hall will come alive with the sound of boots hitting the floor, as dancers of all experience levels come together for an unforgettable night featuring the line dancing team from Bootz n Beatz and live music from local Hope Vale band Red Soil Country.
And you don’t need to know a grapevine from a grapevine twist to join in!

The fun starts in the afternoon with a FREE two-hour line dancing workshop from 1pm to 3pm.
*The workshop is completely free and not ticketed. Attendance is not compulsory for the dance night.
Led by the Bootz n Beatz instructors, the workshop is the perfect chance to learn some new steps, brush up on your moves and get yourself dance-floor ready before the evening kicks off.
Never line danced before? No problem. Experienced dancer? Even better. Everyone is welcome, and there’s no registration required — simply turn up, put on your dancing shoes and join in.
Then it’s time to hit the dance floor
From 6pm to 10pm, the Cooktown Shire Hall will turn into a country-style dance floor for a full evening of line dancing and live entertainment.

The Bootz n Beatz team will lead the line dancing, while Red Soil Country, a local Hope Vale band, brings the live soundtrack to keep the good times rolling.
Whether you’re coming along with your regular dance crew, bringing the family, looking for a fun night out with friends or simply keen to try something different, there’s plenty of reason to grab your boots and join the party.
Themed attire is welcome, so this is your chance to embrace your country style and dress for the occasion!
A fundraising bar and food will be available for purchase throughout the evening, so settle in, enjoy the music and make a night of it.
