Ready to swap the school routine for pool time? The Cooktown Swimming Pool is turning up the fun these September–October school holidays, with Splash N’ Play and weekday free introductory swim lessons giving young swimmers plenty of opportunities to jump in, have fun and make the most of their time in the water.
Whether it’s games and free play with friends or putting in the practice to work towards the next swimming level, there’s plenty of reason to pack the swimmers and make a splash!

Bring on the pool games, splashing and holiday fun!
Splash N’ Play is back at the Cooktown Swimming Pool for two special holiday sessions, with kids invited to jump in and enjoy a morning packed with games, activities, free play and plenty of time to simply have fun in the water.
It’s the perfect way to get active, cool off and catch up with friends — whether your little swimmer wants to join in the activities or simply make the most of some good old-fashioned pool time.

- All ages welcome
- No registration required
- Standard pool entry fees apply

- Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.
Learn to Swim Holiday Program
Make a splash these school holidays with FREE Learn to Swim lessons at the Cooktown Swimming Pool!
Delivered through the Swim and Survive program, lessons are available for children aged six months to 14 years, from Babies and Toddlers through to Primary swimming levels.
Families can book one lesson or multiple sessions across the two weeks, with no requirement to attend every day. Children should be booked into the class that best matches their current swimming level, with guidance available for new swimmers or families unsure which level to choose.
Week One: Monday and Wednesday afternoons, and Tuesday and Thursday mornings, with times varying by swim level.
Week Two: Tuesday to Friday, between 3.15pm and 4.45pm.
