Last week, Cooktown Library turned into a mini science lab for Science Week, with children and carers joining in a science-themed First 5 Forever Storytime and an after-school activity session packed with hands-on fun.
There were electronic circuits to build, magnets to test, Bee-Bots to program, microscopes to peer through, plasma globes to explore and mini beasts to investigate, with plenty of curious questions along the way.
And the crowd favourite? The bubbling bicarb ice cubes and vinegar fizzers! Safe to say, anything that bubbles, fizzes and erupts is always going to be a winner.
It was a brilliant celebration of learning through play, experimenting, exploring and discovering just how much fun science can be.
