Cooktown is getting ready to welcome the Cardiac Challenge to town on Monday 21 September, and the community is encouraged to get out and cheer on the riders as they roll in.
The Cardiac Challenge will bring cyclists into Cooktown as part of the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation event, with riders gathering on Webber Esplanade for a group photo.
To safely accommodate the riders and group photo, Webber Esplanade between Charlotte Street and Sherrin Esplanade will be temporarily closed from 12.30pm to 1.30pm.
Local access will be maintained under traffic control, with motorists asked to follow directions and allow a little extra time when travelling through the area.
The closure is expected to last just one hour.
Come down, make some noise and help us give the Cardiac Challenge riders a proper Cooktown welcome.
