Our community has a story to tell, and you’re invited to help paint it.
This October, the community is invited to pick up a paintbrush, get creative and help bring the Ayton Community Mural to life through three community painting workshops at the Tin Shed.
The finished mural will reflect the journey of the community following the severe impacts of Tropical Cyclone Jasper associated rainfall and flooding, celebrating the resilience, community spirit and connections that have helped us move forward.
It will be a colourful piece of Ayton’s story, created by the people who know it best.
Everyone aged 10 years and over is welcome to join in, and no artistic experience is needed.
Get involved
There will be three chances to come along, add some colour and help create the finished artwork.
No bookings are required. Just turn up, grab a brush and get involved.
Wear some old clothes that can handle a splash or two of paint, and everything else needed to get creative will be ready to go.
A mural made by the community, for the community
Once complete, the mural will be installed at the Ayton Community Resilience Hub, becoming a permanent and colourful part of the community.
The mural will celebrate how the community came together, supported one another and continued moving forward.
Every brushstroke will add something different, helping create an artwork that reflects the people, spirit and resilience of our community.
