Technology is always changing. Just when you’ve figured something out, along comes another update, a new app or a button that’s moved somewhere else. Sound familiar?
From keeping in touch with family and friends to accessing services, finding information and managing everyday tasks, so much of life now happens online. And while technology can make life easier, it can sometimes feel like there’s a lot to keep up with.
But you don’t have to figure it out on your own!
On Wednesday 21 October, bring your phone, tablet, or laptop to the Cooktown Events Centre for a free, friendly morning of learning, exploring and building the confidence to navigate everyday technology.
From 10am to 12.30pm, Nicky Jurd from Precedence will be shaping practical knowledge, answering questions and helping participants feel more comfortable navigating the digital world.
Got a question you’ve been meaning to ask?
Maybe there’s something on your phone you’ve never quite figured out, an online service you’d like to feel more confident using, or a handy feature you didn’t even know existed.
Whatever it might be, this is your chance to ask away, pick up useful tips and discover what your devices can do for you, all at your own pace.
With October marking Seniors Month, the workshop is a particularly timely opportunity for senior community members to build their digital confidence, stay connected with loved ones and feel more independent with technology.
If you’re just getting started or have been using technology for years, there’s always something new to learn. And there’s no such thing as a silly question!
The workshop is being held as part of Get Online Week, a national digital inclusion campaign running from 19 to 25 October 2026, encouraging Australians to build their digital skills and make the most of being online.
So, bring your device, bring your questions and come along for a cuppa and a little digital know-how!
Morning tea is provided, and the workshop is completely free.
All ages and experience levels are welcome.
Bookings are essential. Call Cooktown Library at 4069 5009 or book online.
