Senior housing unit available at Endeavour Lodge
Looking for independent senior accommodation in Cooktown? Expressions of interest are now open for one unit at Endeavour Lodge on Howard Street.
Eligible Cook Shire residents are invited to register their interest by Monday 12 October 2026.
Who can apply?
Applicants must:
- be a Cook Shire resident
- be aged 60 or over, or 55 or over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants
- be able to live independently
- receive the Australian Government Age or Service Pension, or equivalent.
Register your interest
To be considered for this vacancy, send Council a written expression of interest that includes:
- your name and contact details
- a short description of your current living situation
- a few sentences about why you are interested in the unit.
Council’s Housing Officer will contact you to confirm your eligibility. If eligible, you will receive an Application for Senior Housing Form and details of the supporting documents needed. No confidential medical report is required.
Applied for senior housing before? Please submit a new expression of interest. Previous applications are not automatically carried forward for this vacancy.

You can hand in a written expression of interest at Council’s office, but staff cannot accept or record one verbally.
