Spring into the Cooktown Markets

It’s time to clear out the cupboards, tackle the shed and turn your spring clean into cash at Spring into the Markets!

On Saturday 12 September, we’re encouraging the whole community to get involved in a bumper morning at the Cooktown Markets – sell or swap your pre-loved goods, find a bargain, raise some funds for your club or community group, and help give good stuff another life instead of sending it to landfill.

And now it’s even easier to have a go, with Council’s once-off non-food market stall fee reduced from $29 to just $10.

Event details

  • When: Saturday 12 September 2026, 7am – noon

Whether it’s clothes, kids’ gear, books, plants, tools, household items, handmade goods or treasures gathering dust – start sorting now and get ready to sell, swap or rehome them.

Sporting clubs and community groups are encouraged to get involved too, with the day providing a great opportunity to fundraise and connect with the community.

There’s also more to come, with additional activities and attractions planned for the morning.
