Cr Sarah Martin

Cr Sarah Martin has been a proud resident of Cook Shire since 1997, calling both Rossville and Cooktown home. With a deep connection to the region, she became a ratepayer in 2007 and has since been an active member of the community.

For over two decades, Sarah played an integral role in managing Full Boar Gym, showcasing her dedication to sport and fitness.

 Her professional journey spans various fields, including communications, media, and journalism. Holding a Graduate Diploma in Public Relations, Sarah has contributed her expertise to local publications Cooktown Local News and Cape York Weekly, and in roles she’s held with Cook Shire Council, Yuku Baja Muliku, Queensland Health, and the Department of Transport and Main Roads.

Currently residing in Cooktown with her son, Sarah embraces the vibrant spirit of small regional communities. As a new councillor, she looks forward to leveraging her diverse experiences to diligently serve the people and communities she represents.
