Australia Day

Celebrate what's great about being an Aussie!

First introduced in 1991, the Cook Shire Council Australia Day Awards are endorsed by Federal and State Governments in line with the National Australia Day Awards and recognise outstanding achievement within our community.

Individuals and groups from within our community who have made a noteworthy contribution during the year, and/or have contributed outstanding service to the community over a number of years are eligible.

Award recipients will be presented with a certificate and a trophy by Cook Shire Mayor Peter Scott.

The 2020 presentation will take place on Friday, January 24 in Cooktown.
