Cook Shire Libraries are celebrating Love your Library Month this February, inviting the community to rediscover their local library and all the services it offers.
The month-long celebration will feature exciting events, including a colouring-in competition, a heart-themed craft day for kids, and the much-anticipated Library Lovers’ Day on Valentine’s Day on 14 February. Visitors can also participate in the How do you library? survey for a chance to win a book pack.
“We’re excited to welcome the community into our libraries to celebrate everything we have to offer,” said Cook Shire Mayor Robyn Holmes. “From books to programs and technology to community events, libraries are vibrant hubs of knowledge and connection. Love Your Library Month is a fantastic opportunity to explore all the ways you can engage with your library.”
Some of the exciting events and activities taking place over the month include:
Colouring-in competition (5 – 21 February):
Open to all ages, with winners announced 24 February.
How do you library? Survey (launches 10 February):
Share your feedback and enter to win a book pack.
Scam Information Session (12 February):
An informative morning around scam awareness.
Afterschool Heart Craft Day (12 February):
A creative afternoon of heart-themed crafts.
Library Lovers’ Day (14 February):
Enjoy a Blind Date with a Book and find your next favourite read.
Evening Book Club (19 February):
Read, discuss and share your thoughts on February’s book (book announced soon).
Tech Time (Every Wednesday and Thursday):
Need help with your phone, table or laptop? Come ask our helpful staff!
Story Time (Every Wednesday):
Join us for a morning of stories, crafts, laughter and fun!
Cook Shire Libraries encourage residents to visit, participate in events, and share their love for libraries on social media using the hashtag #howdoyoulibrary
