The clean-up efforts are nearing completion as Cook Shire Council works to restore our region’s beaches and coastal areas. This week, helicopters were used to sling large bags of flood debris from the shores of Cedar and Weary Bay, helping to clear waste that has accumulated over the past year.
Living in a cyclone-prone area means we are no strangers to the challenges that nature can bring. While significant progress has been made in the recovery, it serves as a reminder of the importance of preparedness. The ongoing efforts to restore our environment highlight the resilience of local communities and our commitment to protecting the region.
For all things storm-related, please keep up to date with Council’s Disaster Dashboard, and remember to be prepared for all weather conditions.
