As a vital agricultural hub for the region and the state, this investment helps pave the way for stronger communities and economic development.
“We’re really excited to have secured funding through the Queensland Government’s Residential Activation Fund to plan and design critical trunk infrastructure in Lakeland. This is a major step toward unlocking more than 750 new homes and supporting growth in the area in line with Council’s Lakeland Masterplan. It’s an important milestone that lays the groundwork for long-term, sustainable growth in one of Queensland’s key agricultural regions.”
Lakeland is central to Cook Shire’s agricultural economy, supplying food and produce across Queensland, nationally and internationally. This project represents a significant milestone in Council’s efforts to future-proof the region and support the needs of workers, families, and businesses.
