ACCOMMODATION LICENSING
Ensuring safe stay across in Cook Shire.
Cook Shire Council requires specific approvals for operating various types of accommodation facilities within the region. These licenses ensure that accommodations meet health and safety standards for guests. Below are the details on obtaining licenses for shared facility accommodations and caravan parks.
Ensure your accommodation business complies with local regulations by obtaining the appropriate approvals. Contact Cook Shire Council for guidance and support throughout the application process.
Shared Facility Accomodation
If you plan to operate shared facility accommodations such as a bed and breakfast or backpacker hostel, you need to apply for an approval. This license is necessary for any accommodation where guests share common facilities, except those located within premises that already have a valid caravan park approval.
Caravan Parks and Camping Grounds
To operate a caravan park or camping ground, you must apply for the relevant approval. This license ensures that the facilities meet the necessary standards and regulations for the safety and comfort of your guests.
Application Process
For both shared facility accommodations and caravan parks, the application covers the issuance of a new license.
If you are unsure whether you need a license, please contact the Council’s Environmental Health Officer by phone at 4082 0500 or via email.
