Cook Shire Council is calling on residents and ratepayers to have their say as part of the 2025 MARKYT® Community Scorecard study, which launches today.
This important initiative provides an opportunity for the community to share feedback on local services, facilities, and Council operations, helping shape future planning and decision-making. The survey is completely anonymous, ensuring all responses remain confidential.
Almost 2000 residents and ratepayers who receive their rates notices via email or have signed up to the Community Connect newsletter database will receive the survey directly via email.
From 10 March 2025, hard copies will be available at all Cook Shire Libraries, the Main Administration Building, Cooktown Swimming Pool, and Cooktown Events Centre. Residents with post office boxes will also receive a printed survey, complete with a reply-paid envelope for convenient return.
The digital survey is open until 28 March 2025, and all residents and ratepayers aged 14 and over are encouraged to participate.
Cook Shire Chief Executive Officer, Brian Joiner urged the community to take part, saying, “Your feedback is vital to help Council understand what is working well and where improvements are needed. The Community Scorecard provides a clear and independent measure of how we are tracking as a local government, and it allows us to focus on the priorities that matter most to our residents and ratepayers.”
