Frequently Asked Questions
What is happening in Lakeland right now?
Council has engaged consultants to undertake survey and geotechnical investigations to inform the preliminary design of future water and sewer infrastructure.
What works will be carried out?
Works include:
- Surveying to measure ground levels
- Geotechnical investigations (such as drilling) to understand ground conditions
These activities are necessary to ensure infrastructure is designed appropriately.
When will these works take place?
Works are expected to commence from mid-April 2026 (weather permitting) and will occur over a short period.
Will consultants need to access my property?
Yes, in some cases short-term access to private property may be required for survey works. These works are non-destructive, and personnel will make reasonable efforts to notify residents where possible.
Will there be any disruption?
Minimal disruption is expected. Survey works are low impact, and geotechnical investigations will occur in public areas only.
Why is this project being undertaken?
This project supports future growth in Lakeland and is funded through the Residential Activation Fund to plan essential infrastructure such as water and sewer services.
