Stronger Together Community Choir — Free Workshop Weekend

Come together, find your voice and help grow Cook Shire’s community choir!

Join experienced choir leader Anne Younghusband for a free weekend of choir leadership, singing and community connection.

Whether you want to learn how to lead a choir, have sung with Stronger Together before, or are completely new to community singing, there’s a session for you.

No previous singing or choir experience is required for new singers.

 

Saturday 22 August

10am–12pm | Choir Leadership
Learn practical skills for leading and conducting a community choir.
1pm–3.30pm | Returning Singers
Rehearse familiar songs and help our new choir leaders put their skills into practice.

 

Sunday 23 August

10am–12pm | Choir Leadership
Build your leadership skills and have a go at leading singers.
1pm–3.30pm | Community Choir Rehearsal

 

New and returning singers come together for a fun afternoon of community singing. Everyone is welcome.

 

What will I learn?

The choir leadership sessions will cover practical skills including:
• vocal warm-ups
• harmonies and vocal parts
• teaching songs
• maintaining tempo
• conducting and leading a group.

 

Plus: All attendees are encouraged to join us as we prepare for an opportunity to perform in front of a crowd at a special community event in October.
